Environmental Policy

​

Our Environmental Policy is fairly straightforward. We believe wholeheartedly that protecting our planet, our ecosystems and our wildlife is vitally important. I have a great passion for what I photograph. I enjoy being out in nature and I want everyone to be able to enjoy it for generations to come. Therefore Billie's Walk endeavours to minimise the impact we have on the environment in the following ways:

• Our office/ home is on a 100% renewable energy tariff through OVO Energy.

​

• Waste is kept to an absolute minimum; we follow the mantra Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.  Which means the packaging you get in a delivery may well have been used for our own deliveries.  It means paper scraps are reused within the home and it means when something can no longer be reused, where possible, it will be recycled.

​

• We will not use unnecessary packaging in your deliveries, which means we will not send your cards or pictures in clear sleeves, even though they are biodegradable. Our 12 x 8" and 8 x 6" pictures are supplied in these biodegradable bags for their protection when sold at markets. Unfortunately, I have not found biodegradable bags for my 18 x 12" prints so they are supplied in a non biodegradable but recyclable clear bag. There are also a few smaller ones that have not as yet sold through of the same material.

• The quality of image on the recycled cards we had printed as samples was not up to our high standards and so we felt it was necessary to use virgin card. This is however responsibly sourced and is FSC Certified. These are printed at a family run business in Devon. Our card envelopes however are all 100% recycled, and our postal envelopes are 80% recycled.

• Our walks are printed on 100% recycled paper.

​

• For our prints and photographs we offer a range that are responsibly sourced through FSC and PEFC.

​

• We will continue to seek out the most environmentally friendly ways to produce our products, including further use of more sustainably produced fine art papers such as Hahnmuhle Bamboo.

​

• We are now able to buy exclusively UK made frames, and all products but our speciality prints are also UK printed and made. Speciality prints, such as acrylic, aluminium and canvas are manufactured in Germany.
